EXCELLENT 1800’S SIOUX INDIAN KNIFE & SHEATH.Incredible Sioux Indian Knife & Beaded Sheath. Beautiful, decorated sheath with colorful beadwork in eye-catching geometric motif, lined with a fringe of tinkler / jingle cones as well as leather tassels with jingle cones hanging from either side of the opening. Knife is 12-1/4” long. Sheath is 11” not counting the suspension cord. Just an outstanding rare example. $7250

1800’s BLACKFEET INDIAN BEADED BELT-KNIFE SHEATH & HOLSTER.At one time, they were feared Plains warriors. Historians believe the Blackfeet, forced out of their ancestral grounds in today’s upper Great Lakes region by white advancement, were one of the first Native American tribes to head West. Though there are several stories on how they received their name, the most plausible is that their moccasins were blackened from the long journey across the prairie to reach what would become Montana. Belt measures 37 inches long. Knife sheath and holster measures 8 inches. Very rare all matching set. $14k

Recovered from the Wounded Knee Massacre by Major Samuel Whiteside, 7th U.S. Calvary. A letter is included from General Richard Armstrong who acquired the items from the Whiteside family, attesting to the authenticity of the items and recounting the story of their recovery by Major Whiteside. Included is a note written in the Lakota language which was kept with the items by Major Whiteside. A rare opportunity to own a piece of history from the most famous battle of the old west. $19k

1830-1840 JAMES BLACK COFFIN HANDLE BOWIE KNIFE & SHEATH.One of the rarest American made coffin handle knives. Less than 10 known to exist. The bowie knife handle looks to have been decorated with white dots. A real strong chance it was carried by a Native American Indian. Bowie measures 11-1/4 inches with a 6-3/4-inch blade. James Black of Washington Arkansas. 19th century newspapers and books described him as the maker of the first Bowie knife. In 1972, Black’s story was printed in the Congressional Record of the 92nd U. S. Congress under the title, “The Tale of the Man Who Invented the Bowie Knife.” P.O.R
