Scarce 1851 Colt Navy & Shoulder Stock. Very Few.
One of the rarer Colt revolvers in the collecting world is this 1851 Colt Navy revolver with 4-screw frame which is cut for a shoulder stock in the frame and on the butt strap. Further, this gun has a sling swivel forward of the trigger which is extremely rare. Serial number 74,628 is matched on all parts. Made in 1857. Small letter M is stamped on the left shoulder of the trigger guard. Shoulder stock serial # 79497
Only a small number of 1851 Navy revolvers were made with four screw cut for stock frames. The frame is milled and has the fourth screws for attaching the yoke of the shoulder stock. The backstrap is steel and has the milled notch on the bottom to engage the stock hook. All markings are sharp and clear. Some case hardening on frame.
The cylinder scene is partially visible. The grips are extremely nice and the mechanics are tight and solid. The sling swivel feature was seldom included on Colt revolvers. This colt comes with a very rare Confederate sling made by ISAAC CAMPBELL & COMPANY. A supplier to the Confederacy. A rare Colt with few seen with shoulder stock. P.O.R

WELLS FARGO & CO LEATHER CUFFED GLOVES.
Wells, Fargo & Co. directly ran stage lines only from 1866 to 1869, from Nebraska to California, and north from Utah into Montana and Idaho. Wells Fargo‘s files of stage drivers are far from complete, and mostly list drivers in California and Oregon. There is also some information on drivers of the Cal-Oregon stagecoach company that Wells Fargo contracted with. For most of Wells Fargo‘s staging history, independent locally run stage lines carried the express. These stage lines advertised in their town’s business directories and newspapers, which are usually available at state and county historical societies and special libraries. There were many Wells Fargowagon drivers, delivering for the Company in small towns and big cities until 1918. $3550
