Civil war 1858 Remington revolver. Likely captured early in the war. Taken back to the Richmond Va, Armory and stamped Richmond VA on top of the barrel and C.S.A on side of frame. Serial number 3 on the frame and butt of back strap. If you are familiar with the stampings of Confederate Revolvers you will know these stampings are from the Richmond Va, Armory. The Louisiana Tigers was a name given to a battalion of soldiers from the state of Louisiana who served with the Confederate Army during the American Civil War. Instead of wearing the standard gray jackets associated with the Confederate Army, the Louisiana Tigers were known for their colorful uniforms comprised of bright red shirts, billowing pantaloons made of blue and white striped fabric, red fezzes with blue tassels, and sometimes blue jackets with red embroidery. This clothing was influenced by the Turkish Zouave uniforms, a nickname often used when referring to the Louisiana Tigers. P.O.R

After the first battle of Bull Run, the troops complained that at a distance they could not distinguish between the ”Stars & Bars” and the ”Stars & Stripes” of the Federal flag. General Beauregard designed the Battle Flag of the Confederacy, consisting of two blue lines containing the thirteen stars diagonally across a red field. Presentation Terry’s Texas Rangers George B. Zimpleman Civil War Confederate Bowie Knife. CS engraved on blade and other side engraved with banners reading” George B. Zimpleman, Co D”, second banner” Terry’s Texas Rangers”. Measures 15.5” overall, blade 11-1/8” long. In 1861 he entered the Confederate service as a private in Colonel Terry’s Texas Rangers. He served in the eighth regiment Texas Cavalry of the Rangers. His engagements were Forrest’s capture of Murfreesboro the fighting under Wheeler in 1862, the battles of Shiloh, Perryville, Shelbyville, Chickamauga, Marietta, New Hope Church and Decatur. He was wounded six times in battle, three times during the Battle of Atlanta, and three times in other engagements. George served from 1861 to 1865. When the war came to an end, he took up life back on the farm near Austin, Texas and in 1866 he was elected sheriff. He held office until 1876. He formed a posse referred to as Zimpelmen’s Guard, during what became known as the San Elizario Salt War. George was the previous owner of the now famous LBJ Ranch. P.O.R
CONFEDERATE READ & WATSON CIVIL WAR RIFLE.
This is an extremely rare Confederate rifle made from 1862-1863 by the firm of Read and Watson in Danville, Virginia, by altering a .52 caliber Hall M1819 breechloading rifle to a percussion muzzle-loader. Virginia had acquired 1,000 of these rifles from 1836 to 1838 (and an equal number of carbines) from the U.S. government under the terms of the 1808 militia act. Existing payment vouchers from May 1862 to September 1863 show the state paid Read and Watson for converting roughly 900-1,000 Halls. Most were apparently the rifles. $7995

CIVIL WAR AMBULACE WATER KEG.
Ambulance water keg for the wounded men of both sides needed water. Obviously, the canteens carried on the person by the soldiers were entirely insufficient in number and capacity to meet the demands of the battlefield. Accordingly in the rear of each Amulance under each seat was a water keg with the end containing a faucet situated for quick and easy dispensing of water. This water keg is made out of Oak wood and measures 17-1/2 inches long and 11 inches tall. $1495
