What makes it ultra rare is being the very last commercial issued 1905 Marine Corps Model. It is .38 caliber, 6-inch barrel with fixed front sight. Blued finish, Case-hardened hammer and trigger. Rare Arizona Ranger badge. At the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th century violence and criminal activity, in the form of cattle rustling, train and stagecoach robberies and killings, was rampant across the Arizona Territory. Ranch and mine owners and railroad barons were pressuring for the formation of a Ranger force to get control over the violence that was needed if Arizona were to ever become a State in the Union. The Territorial Governor, Nathan Oakes Murphy, succeeded in not only getting the legislature to authorize the force but also in getting the funding to support it. On March 21, 1901, the legislative act became effective authorizing the company of Rangers, modeled after the Texas Rangers, made up of fourteen (14) men; one Captain hired at $120.00 per month, one Sergeant hired at $75.00 per month, and twelve (12) Privates hired at $55.00 each per month. $2975

He was an American showman and performer who specialized in Wild West shows and was known for his partnership with Buffalo Bill Cody. In 2010 Pawnee Bill was inducted into the Hall of Great Westerners of the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. This rifle was made with flip up storage compartment on side of stock. May Lillie’s model 1894 Marlin rifle. She was an American sharpshooter and equestrian with Pawnee Bills Wild West Shows. May was married to Pawnee Bill in 1886. She also performed in his shows. This rifle has star on side of receiver with her name in the middle. On top of frame says Pawnee Bills Wild West. Also on the reverse of frame are Indian Peace signs. The day after Hickok was killed Bullock was hired to be sheriff. He was Deadwood’s first sheriff. When appointed sheriff, one of Bullock’s first duties was to confront Dodge City Deputy Marshal Wyatt Earp, who was possibly interested in the sheriff’s job.
